§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will agree not to accept the Metrication Board's recommendations for the change of all road speed limits and distance signs until the matter has been considered by an official inquiry to which members of the public and organisations can express their views.
§ Dr. GilbertI refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to him on 3rd May.—[Vol. 910, c.243.]—I would welcome widespread public discusion of this issue, but, I doubt if an official inquiry would be the most productive means of securing it.
