§ Mr. GoldingAt June 1974, the latest date for which estimates are available, there were 12,956,000 males and 5,658,000 females in full-time employment in the United Kingdom and 703,000 males and 3,473,000 females in partime employment, making a total of 22,790,000. The statistics of union membership do not separately distinguish those members who are currently employed, whether full or part-time, from those who are not.
