§ Mr. Martenasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will give brief details of the occasions on which Her Majesty's Government have invoked antidumping measures since 1959.
§ Mr. MeacherSince 1959, 131 antidumping or countervailing investigations have been announced by successive Governments. Of this total: 17 applications have been withdrawn by applicants before the completion of the investigation; 26 investigations have led to the imposition of substantive anti-dumping or countervailing duties; 25 investigations have been concluded by the adoption of remedies other than anti-dumping or countervailing duties; 12 investigations are still in progress. In the remaining cases the applications have been rejected after investigation.
§ Mr. Meacher,pursuant to the reply [Official Report, 29th March 1976, Vol. 908, c. 368], gave the following information:
Sugar beet harvesters and polyester fibre have been added to the list of products which have been announced as under investigation for anti-dumping action.
