§ Mr. MulleyVacancies are constantly occuring through teachers leaving teaching service and the total number of teachers in the maintained schools is expected to rise in September by about 3,000; but it is unlikely that the employment opportunities in the schools will be sufficient to absorb all the teachers seeking posts.
§ 26. Mr. Gwilym Robertsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the implementation of proposals made to him by the Advisory Committee on the Supply and Training of Teachers in respect of the training of teachers in further education.
§ Mr. Gerry FowlerMy right hon. Friend has studied the Advisory Committee's report with interest and is considering how far progress might be made to implement its recommendations within existing resources.
