§ 31. Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many local authorities which have already introduced comprehensive schools will be required to alter their allocation of places policy in order to comply with the provisions of the Education Bill.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonEvery local education authority in England, except Kingston, maintains some comprehensive schools. Many of these authorities will wish to revise admission procedures to these schools when the Bill becomes law. However at this stage I cannot predict in how many cases my right hon. Friend will find it necessary to require a local authority to carry out such a revision.
