§ Mr. William RossIn the current financial year the estimated running cost of prisons, borstals, young offenders institutions and the one detention centre in Scotland is approximately £16.6 million. In addition, an estimated £4.4 million capital expenditure will be incurred in respect of new building and provision of plant. The figures include expenditure by Departments other than my own.
