§ Mr. MacCormickasked the Lord Advocate what, to date, has been the number of prosecutions in Scotland under the Trade Descriptions Act 1968.
The Lord AdvocateMy Department has not in the past kept statistics relating to such prosecutions, but, as from the beginning of this year, arrangements have been made for them to be kept. These arrangements were made in response to a request from the Scottish Consumer Council to which the figures are notified monthly.
