§ Sir Bernard Braineasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will now appoint a ninth member to the Health and Safety Commission who has experience of industrial hazards and the need for ensuring greater protection of the public where these exist.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerI believe that the Commission's work to date shows that it is fully mindful of the need to take account of the interests of the public who may be affected by work activities. Never-610W theless, although it has been decided to defer for the time being the appointment of a ninth member to the Commission, I will certainly bear the hon. Member's suggestion in mind.
