HC Deb 16 March 1976 vol 907 c473W
Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for Trade why he refused the request of the Kirklees Metropolitan Council for a meeting with himself and the Secretary of State for Industry to discuss the dumping of low-cost textiles and clothing and the Wool Textile Reorganisation Scheme, both as it has operated in the past and as any successor scheme might operate in the future.

Mr. Deakins,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 3rd March 1976; Vol. 906, c. 651–2], gave the following information

My hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Industry has suggested to Kirklees Metropolitan Borough that its representatives might most appropriately put their views to the Department of Industry's Regional Director in Leeds; and I am writing to it supporting this suggestion.
