§ Mr. BennThe Ten-Year Programme for Scientific and Technological Cooperation signed in February 1975 by the Prime Minister and Mr. Kosygin already provides for co-operation in the field of nuclear power engineering and any specific agreement between the Nuclear Power Company and the Russian nuclear industry could be accommodated within this framework.
In November 1975, Mr. J. C. C. Stewart, Deputy Chairman of NPC, led a delegation of the British Nuclear Forum to the Soviet Union to examine further the possibilities for co-operation in this field and signed a protocol under which this examination will continue.
A Soviet nuclear mission will shortly be making a return visit to the United Kingdom, at the invitation of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade, as the next step in the development of co-operation.
