§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Environment which part of the £50 million for the improvement of public sector housing is to be allocated (a) to Knowsley Borough Council, (b) to West Lancashire District Council and (c) to Merseyside.
§ Mr. ArmstrongThe allocations for the local authorities in question were advised on 11th March and were as follows:
£ (a) Knowsley Borough Council 2,000,000 (b) West Lancashire District Council 200,000 (c) The Districts within the Merseyside Metropolitan County 5,400,000 In addition, £100,000 has also been allocated to Ellesmere Port Borough Council which, though net within the Merseyside Metropolitan County, like West Lancashire District Council is adjacent to it and has demonstrated that it can benefit from these measures to alleviate unemployment in the construction industry.
