§ Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will publish the levels of education maintenance allowance available for children over the age of 16 years who are still at school.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonThese allowances are made by local education authorities under discretionary powers and, as returns to the Department are not required, details of current levels are not available. A survey carried out in the autumn term 1974 showed the average level at that time as £125 per annum.
