Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) how many school meals were served to primary and secondary schoolchildren, respectively, at the most recent date for which figures, are available; and what were the comparable figures for each of the previous 10 years;

(2) what percentage of primary and secondary children, respectively, took school meals at the most recent date for which figures are available; and what were the comparable figures in each of the previous 10 years;

(3) how many primary and secondary schoolchildren, respectively, were provided

Comprehensive information as to the division between primary and secondary pupils is not available. It is estimated that in 1975 the proportion of primary to secondary pupils taking meals was about 5:2, and the relative percentages were 54 of primary pupils present, and 40 of secondary pupils present.
