HC Deb 15 March 1976 vol 907 c442W
Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is her current estimate of the average weekly level of occupational pension.

Mr. O'Malley,

pursuant to his reply,[Official Report, 20th February 1976; Vol. 905, c. 851],gave the following further information

In my reply of 20th February I quoted an estimate of £8.80 for the average weekly amount of occupational pension received by occupational pensioners., This estimate, as stated, was based on the Family Expenditure Survey for 1974. I should have made clear, however, that the estimate related to people over the State pension age—65 for men, 60 for women. A corresponding estimate relating to occupational pensions of all ages would be £9.80 a week.
