asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether former employees of British Airways, British Rail, British Road Transport, the National Bus Company and the water authorities have pensions indexed to inflation.

Mr. Crosland

I answer by agreement with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade as far as the British Airways Board is concerned.

Details of nationalised undertakings' pensions schemes can be obtained from them.

The Pensions Increase Act 1971 was applied to former employees of water authorities by the Pensions Increases (Local Authorities, etc. Pensions) Regulations 1974.
