HC Deb 09 March 1976 vol 907 c201W
Mr. Hatton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she is satisfied with the facilities at present available for patients and staff at the Manchester Royal Infirmary; and if she will make a statement.

Dr. Owen

Facilities at many older hospitals are not as good as I would wish, but I am satisfied that those at the Manchester Royal Infirmary are still adequate for the provision of services of a high standard. The North-Western Regional Health Authority, in conjunction with Manchester Area Health Authority (Teaching), intends to redevelop this hospital in phases based on priority needs and in accordance with the availability of resources.
