HC Deb 09 March 1976 vol 907 c207W
Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will investigate the fact that some £10,000 is to be spent on carpets for the finance office taken over at Carr's biscuit works, Carlisle, for the National Health Service; and if she will make a statement.

Dr. Owen

The amount spent on carpets, including fitting, for office accommodation at Carr's biscuit works for nursing and finance administrative staff was £2,067. I am advised that the new floor coverings were necessary to absorb noise as no money was to be spent on partitioning. There are no plans to spend more money on carpets.
