§ Mr. William RodgersThe reduction of £177 million in the defence budget relates to the year 1977–78. Details of its effect on hardware programmes and personnel were given by the Secretary of State for Defence on 20th February—[Vol. 905, c.831–34]—and will also be set out in the forthcoming defence White Paper.
