§ Mr. Barry JonesThe full-time equivalents of 41 speech therapists were working in the health service in Wales at the end of September 1975. It is not possible to say precisely how many persons need the services of speech therapists, but during the year ending September 1975, 665 new in-patients and 794 new out-patients were treated by speech therapists working in hospitals in Wales, and during 1974, the last year for which information is available, 10,947 pupils were treated by speech therapists working in the school health service in Wales.
