asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, what further meetings he proposes with the trade unions and companies concerned with the future of the cane sugar industry; and what proposals he is now considering.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the replies given to my hon. Friends the Members for Greenock and Port Glasgow (Dr. Mabon) and Liverpol, Walton (Mr. Heffer) on 11th February and 26th February—[Vol. 905, c. 258; Vol. 906, c. 296–7.] respectively. Discussions with the trade unions and the companies concerned are likely to continue for some time.
