HC Deb 04 March 1976 vol 906 cc701-2W
Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what representations she has received from individuals, licensees and trade associations, respectively, following the publication of the Price Marking (Drinks on Premises) Order 1975, as to the terms of that order.

Mr. Maclennan

Apart from inquiries about the terms and scope of the Order, the only representations made to the Department have been that, in particular premises in the early stages of its operation, prices were not being displayed, or that the positioning of labels or price lists or the size of characters used in them were not such as to enable prices to be easily read by an intending purchaser. These are matters for subjective assessment and inquirers were referred to local trading standards departments which enforce the Order. None of these representations came from licensees or trade associations.
