§ Mr. Newensasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, if the proposed EEC regulation on the organisation of the market in potatoes (R/238/76) is likely to involve the replacement of the Potato Marketing Board by producer groups; and, if so, whether he envisages the organisation of these groups as agricultural co-operatives.
§ Mr. StrangThere has as yet been no detailed discussion in Brussels of the Commission's proposals for a Community potato regime. Until the final form of the draft regulation is known it would be premature to discuss any possible implications for producer organisations in the United Kingdom.
