Expenditure totals for the years since 1970–71 are expressed at 1975 Survey Prices in Table 3.3 of the White Paper "Public Expenditure to 1979–80" Cmnd. 6393. Similar totals at the same price base are not available for earlier years without a disproportionate amount of work.
