HC Deb 02 March 1976 vol 906 c501W
Mr. Churchill

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what checks of identity are currently being made of visitors entering Great Britain from Ireland; and if, in the light of recent terrorist activity in England, he will now institute more effective procedures.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

My policy on these matters, which is based upon professional police advice, was made clear in recent debates upon the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Bill.—[Standing Committee A, c. 128–33; Vol. 904, c. 567–71.]
