HC Deb 02 March 1976 vol 906 cc526-7W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the pupil-teacher ratio in primary schools and day schools in Bournemouth during January 1975 and 1976, respectively.

Mr. Mulley

Following the reorganisation of local government, which took place on 1st April 1974, Bournemouth has become part of Dorset local education authority. In January 1975, the latest year for which figures are available, the pupil-teacher ratio in maintained primary schools in Dorset was 24.6:1. The production of statistics for areas smaller than local education authorities would incur a disproportionate cost.
