HC Deb 02 March 1976 vol 906 cc512-3W
Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Prime Minister if he will set out in the Official Report the average length of time taken by each Department of State to reply to letters from hon. Members.

The Prime Minister

No, this could not be done without disproportionate cost. Replies are and will continue to be given as quickly as possible to all letters from hon. Members, and where a substantive reply cannot be made within a reasonable period interim replies are sent. In cases of unnecessary delay, I would ask hon. Members to take up the matter with the Minister in charge of the Department concerned.
