HC Deb 02 March 1976 vol 906 c543W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give an assurance that no defence contract work will be transferred from Liverpool to London.

Mr. William Rodgers

Discussions are still going on with the Ministry of Defence Staff Side about contracts work in Liverpool and London and no decision has yet been reached.

Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will take steps to disperse more of his departmental work to Liverpool.

Mr. William Rodgers

No. The Department, which is making the largest single contribution to the dispersal programme announced by the Lord President in July 1974, will be fully stretched in meeting its commitment to Cardiff and Glasgow.
