§ Mr. BoothThe number of unemployed in the Merseyside special development area in mid-February 1976 was 76,495, which was a decrease of 5,785 over the mid-January figure. Merseyside has special development area status and is benefiting from the measures we have recently taken to mitigate the worst effects of unemployment.
