Mr. Gow

asked the Lord President of of the Council whether he will list the 34 members of the Cabinet Office Constitution Unit and give a detailed breakdown of the sum of £279,000, being his estimate of the salaries and certain administrative overheads of that unit.

The estimate of £279,000 includes some £220,000 for salaries, £47,000 for superannuation and employer's national insurance costs; the remaining £12,000 is an average annual cost figure for the use of telephones, stationery, postage and small office machines.
