§ 26. Mr. Terry Walkerasked the Secretary of State for Industry what discussions he is having with the French Government about any extension of the Concorde programme.
§ Mr. KaufmanAs I said in my reply to the hon. Member for Hazel Grove (Mr. Arnold), I shall be meeting the French Minister for Transport on 29th March to consider sales prospects and the future of the Concorde programme.
§ Mr. Tebbitasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether provision is made within the sums listed in his White Paper on Public Expenditure for capital investment in the shipbuilding and aerospace construction industries or in Concorde programme for the writing off of moneys expended on the purchase of long lead time materials for the production of Concorde aircraft beyond number 16; and, if so, how much has been provided.
§ Mr. KaufmanThe materials were purchased under contract, and provision for this was included in the public expenditure survey at the time. The question of any further provision does not, therefore, arise.
