HL Deb 29 June 1976 vol 372 c766WA
Viscount FURNESS

asked HerMajesty's Government:

Whether it would be practicable for Her Majesty's Government to request the Post Office to include the relative humidity in their recorded telephone weather forecasts.

Lord MELCHETT

The content of these forecasts is for the Post Office to decide, in consultation with the Meteorological Office. I understand that the Meteorological Office have advised the Post Office that forecast relative humidity figures are of limited interest or value to the general public. The Meteorological Office are, however, prepared to consider the supply of forecast relative humidity figures to inquirers who contact them direct.

House adjourned at twenty-seven minutes past seven o'clock.
