§ Mr. Reidasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce legislation to allow the construction of probation homes and hostels in Scotland and to permit local authorities to establish day 142W training centres which can be use in conjunction with probation orders.
§ Mr. McElhoneRegional and islands authorities already have sufficient powers for these purposes under the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968.
