AVERAGE WEEKLY EARNINGS, FULL-TIME MANUAL WORKERS Manufacturing Industries United Kingdom Men 21 years and over Women 18 years and over £ £ October 1975 … 59.74 34.23 October 1974 … 49.12 27.05 It should be noted that average hours worked by men are significantly greater than those for women. For example, in October 1975 the figures were 42.7 hours and 36.8 hours respectively.
