§ 32. Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Industry what discussions he is holding with the engineering industry and the concrete construction industry about possible future requirements in the field of non-conventional sources of energy.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldWork on alternative sources of energy is primarily the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy, and is still largely at the research and development stage. The involvement of my Department with the engineering industry and of the Department of the Environment with the concrete construction industry concerning possible future requirements on these matters will depend on the outcome of studies on the potential of these energy sources which are at present being carried out under the auspices of the Department of Energy.
