§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many new railway sidings have been installed with grant aid under the Railway Act 1974 to the most recent practicable date; how many sidings applications are currently under discussion; what is the tonnage per annum carried over the new sidings; and what is the anticipated tonnage from the applications under discussion.
§ Mr. MarksGrant has been approved for 10 schemes of which three are already in operation. About 2 million tons annually will be involved when they are all in service. 20 others are under consideration but it is too soon to estimate the tonnages involved.
