HC Deb 25 June 1976 vol 913 c440W
Mr. Ronald Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he has anything further to add to his earlier replies concerning the percentage of paper in the United Kingdom that is recycled.

Mr. Alan Williams

In 1974 and 1975 about 27 per cent. of the paper and board consumed in the United Kingdom was recovered for recycling, not as my earlier reply—[Vol. 910, c. 417]—said, made from recycled waste paper. The recently announced scheme of financial assistance for the paper and board industry should encourage it to increase its capacity for recycling waste paper.
