§ Mr. Wrigglesworthasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will allow unemployed young people attending courses at colleges of further education for more than three days a week 567W to receive supplementary benefit while they are awaiting employment.
§ Mr. OrmeSupplementary benefit is payable to unemployed young people provided they register for employment, are free to attend for interview when called and are willing to take any suitable job which may be offered to them. The Supplementary Benefits Commission has already modified these conditions so that young people seeking work can attend school for not more than three days a week without losing benefit, and further relaxation is not considered appropriate.
