§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many letters his Under-Secretary of State with special responsibility for licensing, the hon. Member for Stirling, Falkirk and Grangemouth (Mr. Ewing) has received from the general public, as opposed to organisations about the Sunday opening of public houses.
§ Mr. Harry EwingSince the statement in the House on the Clayson Report by the then Secretary of State on 28th October 1975, 137 letters on Sunday opening have been received in the Scottish Office from the general public, 97 of which were in favour of the Sunday opening of public houses and 40 of which were against.
