Mr. Marks

I am advised by the highway authority, Lancashire County Council, that the comparative records of 24 hour average weekday flow of traffic at a point on A585 north of Singleton village wereAugust 1974 (before opening of M55)—4,539 vehicles per day August 1975 (after opening of M55)—7,750 vehicles per day.

This is an increase of approximately 71 per cent.
