Langford-Holtasked the Prime Minister, in view of the comments made recently on behalf of Her Majesty's Government about the importance of protecting the secrecy of Cabinet discussions, what steps he will take to ensure that Cabinet Ministers after leaving office do not publish reports of Cabinet proceedings.
§ The Prime MinisterAll Ministers have been made aware of the recommendations of the Report of the Committee of Privy Counsellors on Ministerial Memoirs (Cmnd. 6386) which the Government accepted in full. If after leaving office they publish material derived from their ministerial life, they are expected to conform to the principles and procedures set out in that report.
