§ Mr. RowlandsAs my right hon. Friend told the House on 29th April, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade has issued an order to amend the Export of Goods Control Order to bring tropospheric scatter communications equipment under general export licensing control. Applications for the export of this equipment will be dealt with in accordance with Her Majesty's Government's policy in relation to particular destinations. The decision on this particular type of communications equipment clearly applies to South Africa as it does to any other country. I have nothing further to add to that statement.
