§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many licensed taxis operate in Belfast; and what reports he has of illicit operations by taxis in west Belfast or any other part of the city.
§ Mr. Concannon758 taxis are licensed to operate in Belfast of which 118 are licensed for public hire and 640 for private hire, It is believed that some taxis are unlicensed, and there are indications of widespread contravention of the law relating to insurance and overloading and of failure to comply with the local byelaws.
