§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to restrict the promotion of chlorhexidine gel 1 per cent. products as a treatment for gingivitis by voluntary agreement with the manufacturers.
§ Dr. OwenPromotion of chlorhexidine gel is restricted, by agreement with the manufacturers, to dental practitioners as an adjunct in the treatment of gingivitis. I am advised that its use in these circumstances is acceptable and in accordance with the terms of the product licence.
