HC Deb 14 June 1976 vol 913 c13W
32. Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether Fleetbank House, Salisbury Square, has yet been fully occupied by MOD(PE); how long this building remained empty after it was leased by his Department; how long after the start of the lease work actually began on occupational services; what these occupational services were, and how much they cost; and what was the total rent paid while the building remained unoccupied.

Mr. Armstrong

Fleetbank House was handed over by the developer in October 1974. The occupational services began in January 1975 and were completed in January 1976. MOD(PE) completed its occupation by Easter 1976. Rent was payable from February 1975, but it is not the practice to disclose rents paid for individual buildings. The occupational services cost £1.8 million; they included partitioning for cellular accommodation with necessary alterations to the air conditioning. lighting systems and suspended ceilings.
