HC Deb 14 June 1976 vol 913 c58W
Mr. Mates

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether there is control of movement of dogs between the Channel Islands and the mainland of France; and, if not, how a check is kept that dogs cannot be brought into the United Kingdom without quarantine via the Channel Islands.

Mr. Strang

The anti-rabies measures in the Channel Islands are the same as our own and the authorities are meticulous in their application. Consequently, dogs entering the Islands from France are subject to strict quarantine requirements. Ministry officials are constantly in touch with their Channel Islands counterparts to ensure coordination of effort.
