§ 27. Mr. Nicholas Edwardsasked the Secretary of State for Wales what progress has been reported on job creation in Blaenau-Gwent by the special working groups of key representatives from the authorities and departments concerned and the BSC since it was set up.
§ Mr. Barry JonesBecause of the economic situation progress has been less rapid than I would wish. Nevertheless, several firms have been attracted to the area and other projects are being negotiated. A major effort is in hand to improve the infrastructure and to provide factory space to increase the attractions of the area for incoming industry.
