HC Deb 14 June 1976 vol 913 c53W
27. Mr. Nicholas Edwards

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what progress has been reported on job creation in Blaenau-Gwent by the special working groups of key representatives from the authorities and departments concerned and the BSC since it was set up.

Mr. Barry Jones

Because of the economic situation progress has been less rapid than I would wish. Nevertheless, several firms have been attracted to the area and other projects are being negotiated. A major effort is in hand to improve the infrastructure and to provide factory space to increase the attractions of the area for incoming industry.
