HC Deb 14 June 1976 vol 913 c57W
Mr. Freud

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many copies of "Alice in Labelland" were printed; to whom they were distributed; and what was the total cost of the exercise.

Mr. Peart

59 copies of the film of "Alice in Labelland" were printed, of which nine have been bought by Government Departments and local authorities, and 50 are available on free loan from Government libraries. Bodies concerned with consumer affairs have predominated amongst those borrowing copies of the film. The total cost to Government funds was £17,200.

30,000 copies of the supporting leaflet of "Alice in Labelland" were printed at a total cost of £2,800. Copies of the leaflet are supplied free with the film and also to such organisations as citizens advice bureaux, local consumer advice centres and through those local authorities which enforce the food labelling legislation.
