§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether, in his investigations into matters connected with alleged irregularities concerning the Canning Town Glass Works, he took any action under breach of Section 190 of the Companies Act 1948; and whether he will now take action under this section of the Act in view of the facts as publicly known and in the possession of his Department.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisThere is no provision under Section 190 of the Companies Act, 1948 for the Department to take action for breach of that section. My hon. Friend may be aware that the company has already begun civil proceedings which are at present before the court.
