§ Mr. Harold WalkerIt is estimated that 6,012,000 working days were lost as a result of industrial stoppages in the United Kingdom during 1975.
In the official statistics incidence rates are expressed as numbers of working days lost per 1,000 employees in employment. On this basis, in 1975, 258 working days were lost per 1,000 employees in Wales, 366 in Scotland and 249 in England.
NOTE. The estimate of employees in employment used in these calculations are provisional and may have to be revised when the results of the 1975 census of employment becomes available.
