§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland in how many cases attachment of earnings orders have been made in Northern Ireland by the Enforcement of Judgments Office after the first defaulting order is enforced.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI assume the Question relates to the number of Attachment of Earnings Orders made under the Judgments (Enforcement) Act (NI) 1969, which provided that such an order could be made only against a debtor who had defaulted on an instalment order. The number of attachment of earnings orders made by the Enforcement of Judgments Office in these circumstances, from the inception of the office on 15th February 1971 up to and including 1st June 1976, was 537.
